Policy S15 (Diversification of Use)

Proposals which aim to diversify the activity found within Slough town centre will be permitted if they comply with the following criteria:

  • it can be shown that the vitality and viability of Slough town centre will be increased;
  • all proposals within the retail area, provides a shop front design synonymous to a shopping location;
  • if located within a retail area, will seek to trade at hours complimentary to a retail location;
  • proposals should not be located within the primary shopping frontage; and
  • the proposal will not result in any adverse environmental effects, or any adverse effects on the visual appearance and character of the area including any listed or locally listed buildings or the Slough Old Town area.
