T2 - SERVICED ACCOMMODATION IN THE GREEN BELT

Proposals for new buildings in the Green Belt to provide serviced accommodation will not be permitted.

Proposals for the change of use of existing buildings in the Green Belt to provide serviced accommodation will only be permitted where:

  • in the case of a listed building it would secure the long term future of that building; and
  • the proposals would comply with Policy GB2 ( Reuse of buildings in the Green Belt); and
  • it would not involve the loss of existing permanent residential accommodation falling in class C3 of the Town and Country Planning Use Classes Order 1987; and
  • suitable provision would be made for access for the disabled or people with mobility problems; and
  • adequate servicing facilities would be provided; and
  • the proposal would comply with all the other policies in this Plan. Particular attention is drawn to policy EP3 (Use, Design and Layout of Development).

Applicants may be asked to enter into a legal agreement to prevent the building being subsequently used for a dwelling falling within Class C3 of the Use Classes Order.
