TR13 - FREIGHT FACILITIES

Proposals for freight facilities in the Green Belt will not be permitted. Proposals for rail and water freight facilities should ensure that:

  • any significant increase in road freight traffic would be confined to the strategic highway network and would not result in additional flows through developed areas; and
  • the proposal would not require major highway infrastructure development or improvements; and
  • the proposal would not be visually intrusive and would be satisfactorily integrated into the locality; and
  • the proposal, including the use and the scale, height, layout, siting, form, design and materials would not adversely affect the character or amenities of nearby properties or the locality in general and would be in accordance with policy EP3 (Use, Design and Layout of Development).
