P47 Community uses
- Development must:
- Retain community facilities; or
- In exceptional circumstances, community facilities can be replaced by another use where they are surplus to requirements. This needs to be demonstrated by a marketing exercise for two years immediately prior to any planning application, for both its existing condition and as an opportunity for an improved community facility at market rates.
- An Equalities Impact Assessment will be required for any proposed loss of community facilities in predominant use by protected characteristic communities as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
- Development will be permitted where:
- New community facilities are provided that are accessible for all members of the community.
