DM5 Rural Exception Sites

Development consisting of 100% affordable housing within the countryside or Green Belt will be permitted where:

  • There is a proven local need for affordable housing for people with a local connection to the area; and
  • The need cannot be met within the settlement boundary; and
  • The development will provide affordable housing for local people in perpetuity; and
  • The development site immediately adjoins an existing settlement and is accessible to public transport, walking or cycling and services sufficient to support the daily needs of new residents
