TC19 Former Magistrates Court
The site of the Former Magistrates Court, as shown on the adopted policies map is proposed for redevelopment in accordance with the following principles:
- One or more town centre uses comprising retail, housing, offices, leisure or community facilities;
- That part of the building on the junction of High Street with Portesbery Road should pay due regard to views down the High Street; and
- Be no more than 3-5 storeys high, subject to respecting its locality and impact on neighbouring properties as appropriate.
This site is located on a gateway to the town centre and the quality of new buildings should reflect this role and respect the adjoining High Street Character Area.
