D.CF2 Existing community facilities
Existing community facilities must be retained unless it can be demonstrated that:
- there is no longer a need for the facility or an alternative community use within the local community, or
- a replacement facility of similar nature that would better meet the needs of existing users is provided.
Where community facilities are re-provided on site as part of the development, the quality and accessibility of these facilities (including public access) should be enhanced.
Extensions to existing schools should demonstrate that:
- there is a demonstrated local need, and
- the current level of child play space will be enhanced and increased.
