DMTS 13 Hotel development
Planning permission for large scale hotels will be granted where they comply with London Plan Policy 4.5, or any subsequent replacement, and where:
- they are located within a town centre or Nine Elms;
- they are wheelchair accessible; and
- the proposal would not result in an over-concentration of hotel accommodation in the vicinity.
Proposals for smaller hotels (less than 50 beds) will be permitted in or close to town centres and in Focal Points of Activity, where there is good public transport accessibility, subject to amenity and transport impacts covered in Policies DMS1, DMO8 and DMT1.
Proposals for apart-hotels will be permitted where the Council considers that there would be no potential impact on housing capacity.
Where the scale of the development allows, agreements to provide on-site accommodation and training for staff will be encouraged.
