Policy WLP5

The local authorities will seek to make an appropriate contribution to meeting regional waste management needs in ways which are consistent with the approved waste management priorities and the ability of the county area to accommodate waste related development without harming interests of acknowledged importance.

The contribution of the county area to meeting the landfill needs of the region will in general be confined to the disposal of non-recyclable inert waste in former mineral workings which require filling for restoration purposes.
