H3 Loss of Residential Accommodation

Planning permission will not be granted for the redevelopment or change of use of premises which would result in a net reduction in the number of dwellings in the district unless:

  • The design or location of the residential unit means that it is wholly inappropriate for continued residential use; or
  • The loss of the residential unit would be necessary for the long term preservation of a listed building; or
  • The development is to meet an identified and proven community need, which cannot be met elsewhere.
