6. Spatial Development Priorities: Church Street / Edgware Road and Ebury Bridge Estate Housing Renewal Areas

CHURCH STREET / EDGWARE ROAD HOUSING RENEWAL AREA

Redevelopment of the Church Street / Edgware Road Housing Renewal Area over the Plan period will deliver the following priorities:

  • At least 2,000 high quality new homes, in accordance with the Church Street Masterplan.
  • At least 350 new jobs and linking further employment opportunities in the CAZ to the local community.
  • Community facilities, including a new health and well-being hub.
  • New green infrastructure and public realm improvements, including a north-south green route or ‘green spine’.
  • Improved mobility through infrastructure improvements to support active travel.
  • Innovative and high-quality design to ensure the most efficient use of land, including tall buildings.
  • Enhancements to Church Street / Edgware Road District Centre, including improved facilities for Church Street Market.

EBURY BRIDGE ESTATE HOUSING RENEWAL AREA

The renewal of the Ebury Bridge estate will deliver the following priorities:

  • Approximately 750 new high-quality homes.
  • Enhanced connections to the wider area through improved public realm and green infrastructure.
  • Innovative and high-quality design to ensure the most efficient use of land.
  • Improvements to the Ebury Bridge Local Centre in the form of new retail accommodation and community facilities.
