EN1: Promoting Improved Environmental Sustainability and Air Quality

All applications for major developments including substantial refurbishments should demonstrate and seek to achieve net zero emissions as soon as practical and make a positive contribution towards improving ambient air quality and reducing emissions of harmful gases. This will also assist in the reduction in the urban heat island effect. Passive ventilation should be prioritised where it supports these requirements.
