Policy 2: Proposals for Increased Building Height

Proposals for tall buildings will not be permitted where they would have harmful impacts on any of the following:

  • The settings of, including views from, Golden Square, Soho Square and St Anne’s Gardens;
  • The significance of other heritage assets including listed buildings or unlisted buildings of merit;
  • The 3 strategic views as indicated in Figure 3.

Proposals for additional storeys may be permitted where the resulting building height responds to and respects prevailing context heights.
